What we do

We’re passionate about advising owner-managed businesses and are ambitious for them to succeed. We don’t differentiate our services by the size of our clients but provide the full range of services wherever they’re needed. With offices across the Midlands, we are committed to and understand our region like no other.

Our strengths and opportunities lie in our independence and reputation for quality. Having a close relationship with our clients gives us a broader understanding of business situations and problems. As a result, we’re responsible for keeping our clients informed about new opportunities in the business world.

Dains is established in 1926 by Charles Leslie Dain in Lichfield.

Following reassessment in 2022 it was confirmed that we had maintained our Gold award for a further 3 years and are well on our way towards achieving Platinum.

Investors in People

Investors in People (IIP) is a national quality standard that sets a standard for improving the performance of organisations through their people.

The framework helps companies improve their performance and competitiveness by setting and communicating business goals and developing people to meet them. It demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement through people.

The IIP encourages ambitious standards and helps companies succeed. It’s a good way to make sure people are trained to do their jobs and know how their jobs can help the company.  

The IIP Standard is based on 4 key principles:

  • Commitment to invest in people to achieve business goals
  • Planning how skills, individuals and teams are to be developed to achieve these goals
  • Action required, to develop and use the right skills to carry out business plans linked to its objectives
  • Evaluation of:
    • individuals progress towards set goals because of their training and development
    • other value obtained from this
    • individuals’ future requirements.

Our IIP Journey

  • Dains gained the IIP award on 26 March 1999 
  • In 2018 we gained the Gold standard
  • Reassessment took place in 2022 and not only did we maintain the standard but received feedback on how to achieve Platinum status. 
  • Reassessments take place every three years.

Approved ACCA Employer

ACCA Approved Employer

We are recognised as a firm that provides the highest level of support and assistance for our ACCA members and students, along with a working environment that is designed to support ACCA members and/or trainees.

Accredited with the Trainee Development Platinum status means we are committed to providing in-house training and help simplify the ACCA trainee journey to membership.

ACCA students will have the confidence that their experience and training needs will be met within a robust study support policy, allowing them to progress and obtain ACCA membership.

Students gain the benefit of an exemption from having to detail and record the training evidence associated with each of the ACCA Performance Experience Requirements.

Our ACCA members are supported with their CPD obligations and only need to tell ACCA that they are working for us as an Approved Employer (PD) when they make their annual CPD declaration.
