Our Birmingham Audit team are recruiting an Audit Assistant, to join their highly supportive and successful team. Responsibilities






  • To carry out client audit work under the direction of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior using the firm’s approach




  • To investigate and resolve problems arising during the audit under the supervision of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior




  • To gain familiarisation with the client’s internal reporting and control procedures




  • To ensure the work is recorded clearly and concisely and working papers are legible and well presented




  • To bring to the attention of the Audit Senior or Semi Senior anything which is not understood, or which is inconsistent with expectations




  • To provide ad-hoc support to other members of the audit department as required





Attributes






  • To actively progress towards ACA or ACCA qualification is essential, (suitable equivalents may be considered subject to sufficient experience)




  • To have a basic understanding of the effect of taxes on a set of accounts




  • To have a basic understanding of the technical aspects concerning a set of limited company accounts




  • To have a basic understanding of all current appropriate auditing and accounting practice




  • Ability to use/learn software and systems operated by Audit as appropriate




  • Attend courses (internal and external) to aid you in the capacity to fulfil your role
