What is Corporate Finance?





In an accountancy practice, our service lines and talented professionals who work in corporate finance are described variously as advisory, financial advisory, deal advisory, transaction advisory services, transactions, deals or corporate finance.





In simple terms: we help people buy and sell businesses and help businesses raise finance.





Typical corporate finance tasks:






  • Advising on buying and selling businesses, and MBOs




  • Raising finance, both debt and equity




  • Financial due diligence and buy-side advisory




  • Preparing financial forecasts

Responsibilities:






  • As a Corporate Finance Analyst apprentice, you will commence a structured AAT Level 2 training programme to achieve your qualification (duration 12 - 18 months)




  • You will learn what Corporate Finance is and what work is undertaken




  • You will be involved with analysing financial reports and preparing financial analysis, interpreting financial statements, and you will have the opportunity to prepare data and undertake supporting tasks on business transactions




  • You will be expected to support the team on pitch documents, quote documents and any business development required




  • You will be required to perform buyer research, and other such research activities as are required




  • With support and guidance, you will be involved in client meetings, engagement opportunities and internal planning meetings




  • You will be supported and guided throughout your apprenticeship by your manager and your team members
