Considering an apprenticeship programme at Dains Accountants! Dains is recruiting a team of apprentices to join our successful and expanding Payroll team, based at our Lichfield office.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship programme allows you to learn while you earn. The programme is designed for you to gain real work experience whilst studying for your chosen qualification.

What qualification will I study towards?

You will be working towards your level 3 in Payroll Administration.

Who are Dains Accountants?

Dains is a firm of chartered accountants & business advisers, who form part of the Dains group of companies.

We believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we look to provide the best working environment, along with hybrid and smart working options and generous benefits. We listen, learn, and evolve as we strive to make Dains a great place to work.

What is payroll and the future career options?

In the UK, 32 million people go to work and they all need to be paid.  A payroll professional ensures that employees receive that pay.  As a payroll apprentice, you’ll learn why pay is subject to income tax, national insurance and other deductions, and you’ll learn exactly how to calculate this.  You’ll learn how employment and tax law influence the amount of pay people receive.

Working with your own portfolio of clients, you’ll deliver the payroll using a payroll system, learning to maximise the capability of the technology to deliver exceptional and compliant services to the businesses you support.  You’ll work directly with His Majesty’s Revenue and customs, ensuring the correct deductions are made and paid over for each of your clients.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll work with experienced payroll professionals who will develop your skills in customer service, managing difficult conversations, organisation and problem-solving.

A payroll career can lead to opportunities in people management, software development, business consultancy, and even sales and business development.  Does this sound like a career for you?
