Considering an apprenticeship programme at Dains Accountants! Dains is recruiting a Tax apprentice to join our successful and expanding Corporate Tax team, at our Stoke office.

What is an apprenticeship programme?





An apprenticeship programme allows you to learn while you earn. The programme is designed for you to gain real work experience whilst studying for your chosen qualification.





What qualification will I study?





You will study for an ATT qualification.





Achieving an ATT qualification guarantees a strong understanding of the basic UK tax system and demonstrates your ability to provide services to the self-employed, and industry, commerce and public sector businesses.





This qualification is an essential step towards Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) status.





How long will it take?





It will take 18 – 24 months to complete, whilst you are working alongside Dains, Tax professionals.





Responsibilities:






  • Work towards your ATT qualification (Dains fully funded)




  • To use the technical resources available to the department when queries arise in your work




  • Gain an understanding of the tax system, being aware of the due dates for the submission of annual tax returns and the due dates for the payment of tax




  • Preparation of Tax Returns on behalf of clients




  • Dealing with basic tax matters on behalf of clients




  • Assist other members of the tax department with the processing of Tax return data




  • Assisting members of the department with administrative duties necessary for the performance of managing their portfolio





Attributes:






  • English and Maths qualifications at GCSE level (or equivalent)




  • Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative




  • Excellent organisational skills
