Dains is recruiting a VAT Manager. As a VAT Manager, no two days are the same.  You are required to think literally and laterally and then be able to explain complex issues in simple terms.

Responsibilities






  • To plan, coordinate and deliver tax compliance and advisory services to both new and existing clients within all Dains service departments in accordance with the divisional business plans




  • Assist other Tax Partners and Managers on the delivery of services to their clients/prospects




  • Client liaison - maintain and develop existing and new clients through planned individual account support and forming internal business relationships with colleagues across various services lines




  • Applies technical knowledge to provide commercial solutions to clients




  • Be proactive in identifying changes in legislation and the impact this has on your own client base




  • Experience with VAT and HMRC regulations




  • To manage a portfolio of clients and to be responsible for the day-to-day management of their affairs





Attributes






  • Ability to use/learn accounting software and systems operated by clients as appropriate (eg SAP, PS Financials, Capita FMS)




  • Have a personable and friendly manner




  • Have a desire for building client relationships




  • Strong basic accounting knowledge is required




  • To have a good understanding of relevant Microsoft Office software, eg Outlook, Word, Excel and any other packages relevant to the role
