How our team describe working in employment taxes: High-performing Fast-paced Challenging

What you could be doing

The Employment Services department provides advice and support to business clients in relation to employment taxes.  Employment taxes include PAYE and NIC payable on wages, salaries, and benefits in kind, but their advice covers the cost and treatment of almost every form of payment or reward that a business can provide to individuals.

They are essentially tax advisers or consultants and all members of our team have contact with clients and learn not just the technicalities around tax but how to interact with clients, scope, and price work, produce good oral and written advice, solve client problems, and manage the firm’s risks.  They are great problem solvers and have one of the largest teams in this area of tax outside of the Big 4 accountancy firms and a proven track record of training members of the team from scratch.

Our Tax, HR, and Payroll professionals help our clients maximize their workforce, operate cost efficiently, and minimise risk.  They do this through providing a wide range of advice on:

  • Compliance, Efficiency and Risk
  • Employment disputes and tribunals
  • Employment status
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Staff training
  • Flexible working
  • Performance Management
  • National Minimum Wage
  • Company Cars
  • Expenses
  • Employee benefits
  • Bonus planning
  • Share plans
  • Recruitment strategies
  • Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
  • Payroll – P11Ds, online payslips, outsourcing
  • Pensions and auto enrolment

You can see there are lots of advice areas you can work on in this team. If you like seeing the workplace from an employer’s perspective, then you’ll enjoy this team.
